I’m Interested In Starting Personal Training but don’t feel confident yet?
As I’ve helped many people reach their personal goals since 2006, I have a wealth of experience from a vast clientele with me. It’s part of my job to build trust and swiftly dissolve and negative pre-conceptions about personal training with me, the gym environment or issues surrounding online communication. I’m naturally a calm and open coach who’ll break things down clearly and ensure we’re focus on what’s important . The bottom-line is we both have the same goal, that is, for you to succeed; I’ll have your back!
Do I need any training experience to start personal training?
Best practice is to hire a qualified, reputable and certified personal trainer to start your fitness journey. It would be a waste of time going it alone in a disorganised suboptimal way trying to get fitter before you see a coach as it would be better time spent working on any identified limitations and conditioning your body in ways optimal for your goals. This prepares you for more progressive training that will follow. If you joined a golf course and wanted to get better at golf you’d hire a coach to ‘accelerate’ your learning and rapidly improve your results the same goes with the gym and training!
How important is a Nutritional Plan?
Nutrition is fundamental to health, every bodily structure and function is dependent on the nutrition you digest and assimilate. What and when we eat can be the difference between fuelling our training sessions to get maximal impact or wasting our time. We can even potentially harm ourselves with inadequate nutrition alongside the new additional stress load of regular training. Your personally assessed calorie balance alone will dictate body compositional changes such as trying to reduce substantial body fat, getting super lean or putting on extra muscle mass. You simply can’t train yourself out of a bad diet. So yes its important, its vitally underpinning.
Which is best for me Lincoln based face-to-face personal training or online?
The Lincoln location is an obvious factor, but if you love the gym your at & don’t have access to a proven personal trainer then online is the route for you. Face-to-face training allows for more real time feedback and personability but you can always get in touch about any training, nutrition or lifestyle issues with me there and then, or wait for a weekly check-in to go through things in detail. Online personal training also requires more discipline to commit and action your set training/dietary changes yourself; However I’ll be there on call with support and guidance every step of the way!
